Photo Above: Ball hawk #5 J.J. Ross hauling down one of his 3 picks in the game. Looking on is #13 Truman Mason who had an interception for a TD.  The three interceptions in a game by Ross and the team total of four interceptions (Ross and Mason combined) are both believed to be historical highs for Lakota West.

BOX SCORE

Summary by Bob Ashby:
The Firebirds used an array of big plays and an airtight defense to shutout Oak Hills for the first time in the 15 game series. The game was played in running clock mode for the entire second half.  The first big play involved Terrance Owensby scoring on a 53-yard run just four minutes into the contest.  Later in the first quarter, Truman Mason intercepted a pass and ran it back 40 yards to score.  Early in the second stanza, Adrian Davis ripped off a 50-yard punt return TD.  Nick Hjort nailed a 39-yard field goal which coupled with a Deonta Christon fumble recovery and 10 yard run for a TD took the brakes off the clock when play resumed after the intermission.  Joshua Lane was a perfect 4 for 4 on extra point conversion kicks and added a 20-yard fourth quarter FG to complete the scoring.  J.J. Ross led the defense with 3 pass interceptions.  This is thought to be the most ever achieved by a Firebird.  J.J. Ross was selected as the Skyline Chili Player Of The Game.  Leading tacklers with 5 each were Truman Mason and Jalen Swanson.
