This past weekend, the Cross-Country Teams participated in the GMC championships. The boys team dominated the competition taking home 6 of the top 11 spots.  The boys won the team competition easily outdistancing second place Mason by 17 points.  Zach Beneteau led way by placing first and earning Athlete of the Year honors. Zach Beneteau had been named to 3 consecutive All GMC 1st teams and all three in the top 10 (10th, 2nd, 1st).  As a freshman Beneteau was one of 8 who earned a West varsity letter but did not make the 7 man GMC team.

Cole Cronk was named the Runner-Up and has been named to 4 consecutive All GMC 1st teams finishing 11th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd, over the last 4 years.

Kaleb Martin, Zach Plotkin, Sergio Negroe, Michael Lane, and Easton Crowther rounded out the scoring for the Firebirds.

On the girls’ side Lauren Mang was the top West finisher.  She was followed by Kassie Martin, Amane Ohashi, Mo Steven, Emily Turner, Ellie Tito, and Anna Wells.
