In only his 3rd year of wrestling Aneesh made the last month of his career a memorable one.  He won a Sectional Championship, became a District Runner-Up, and then capped it off by placing 6th at the OHSAA DI State Championships this past weekend held at Hilliard Darby High School.  Aneesh, who came into the state tournament unranked, upset the #4 ranked heavyweight in his opening match winning by a fall in 2:54.  In his championship quarterfinal match, he fell to the #3 ranked heavyweight from Massillon Perry by a score of 6-3.  This dropped him down to the consolation bracket where Aneesh won his next match 2-0 over the #9 ranked heavyweight from Massillon Washington, securing a top 8 state placement!  He finished his tournament run on Sunday by winning by a medical default in the consolation quarterfinals but losing to the #6 and then the #7 ranked heavyweights by scores of 3-0 and 5-2.  Aneesh becomes the school’s 61st state qualifier and 32nd state placer in school history.

Congratulations Aneesh on an amazing finish! #WestPride
