The wrestling team wrapped up the 2021-2022 regular season last week with a pair of dual meets. First, the Firebirds took on the Panthers of Little Miami last Wednesday night. There were many strong performances from the team, but none more significant than the three seniors (Kendra Hiett, Jake Williams, and Joseph Jackson, Jr.). The trio combined for two falls and a 7-0 decision win. The final score of the dual was a 48-17 victory for the Firebirds on Senior Night!

Then on Saturday, the team traveled to Edgewood to take on the Cougars. The Firebirds were short-handed but battled tough and went 5-5 in the contested matches. However, the final score was 53-21 in favor of the Cougars. There were many great matchups, but Vaughn Nguyen’s most impressive gutsy 3-1 win at 165lbs.

The Firebirds finished the year with a 6-2 dual meet record, their best win percentage since the 2015-2016 season!
