Congratulations to the boys’ varsity wrestling team, who won the GMC tournament this past weekend at Middletown! This is their first GMC title since 2009 and 8th overall in Lakota West school history. Trailing in the team standings the majority of the day, the team took the lead in the second to last round and never looked back, winning by over 20 points! The victory was a total team effort, with 13 of the 14 wrestlers scoring points. Special congratulations to the following who placed top 4 in their respective weight class.
This Saturday, the team heads to Lakota East for the Sectional Tournament. The top 4 placers from each weight this weekend will qualify for the District Tournament. Good luck to our wrestlers as they look to carry this momentum into the postseason!
